Penzion Hradní Bašta

Family pension with a touch of history

Welcome to the premises of the Hradní Bašta Pension, which are over 250 years old. The pension was completely reconstructed in 2000–2007 and it was extended in a very sensitive way to maintain the historical character of the building.

The Hradní Bašta Pension is located at the town square at Bečov, only a few metres from the entrance to Bečov castle and chateau. The castle presents the unique Reliquary of St. Maurus, which is the second most valuable goldsmiths’ artefact in the Czech Republic, right after the coronation jewels.

We offer accommodation in 17 romantic rooms in historical style. The overall capacity of the Pension is 40 regular beds and 10 additional beds. All rooms are non-smoking, which is a guarantee of quality and clean environment.

More about accommodation

A piece of history in the beautiful countryside

The family run guesthouse and restaurant Hradní Bašta overlooks the main square of the picturesque town of Bečov nad Teplou, situated ca 20 km from Karlovy Vary (in the direction of Plzeň) in the protected Slavkov Forest National Park. The family run guesthouse and restaurant Hradní Bašta has been extensively renovated over the 7 years.

The guesthouse comprises two parts. One is the old, one storey house from 1761 that has recently been renovated and has a gateway leading to the former Jewish quarters (the so called Jewish Gate). Before WWII a hat-maker, Anton Wölfl used to live here. During the reconstruction works a lot of attention was paid to maintaining the original character of the building, the original timber framed walls were preserved together with the wooden floors and ceilings. The upper restaurant, wine cellar  and 8 rooms  are situated in this renovated part of the house. The new extension houses 9 rooms,  the lower restaurant, a conference hall and a wine shop.
